Demanding · very high altitude
The most famous trek on earth, winding through Sherpa villages, swinging bridges and Buddhist monasteries up the Khumbu Valley to the foot of Everest. Days of walking beneath 8,000m giants end at Kala Patthar, where the sunrise sets the summit of the world aglow.

Good to knowTips
- Acclimatize slowly — build in rest days at Namche and Dingboche to avoid altitude sickness.
- Hire a licensed guide/porter; a TIMS card and Sagarmatha park permit are required.
- Lukla flights are weather-dependent and often delayed — keep buffer days at the end.
Getting thereLogistics
Fly Kathmandu → Lukla to start. Teahouses along the route provide beds and meals, so no camping is needed. Most trekkers go with a guided agency that arranges permits, guides and porters.
